The Three Knit Wits: 3 Doggie Diner Heads Knit Today, Gone Tomorrow!

There they were, three monumental Doggie Diner Heads, relics of a past fast food era, on a red trailer, parked directly in front of the Castro Theatre. I saw them 21 September 2013–did not have my camera with me. So, I ran all the way up the Mount Everest of Corona Heights to get my tiny point & click, to see if I could somehow do any justice to this out of context zany & loveable display. (It truly was the Doris Wishman of the art world, disembodied Doggie Diner Heads, swathed in crochet or knitted material of some kind or another). I found out later they were an installation piece by artist Olek I all really knew, this was weird, straight up my inner alleyway of strange, and would not last long. My Jeanne Dixonesque was correct: they were gone the next day. My only regret was that my camera was the old point & click & I could not get a wider range shot. All that aside, here’s that old saying…

This Doggie Diner head was greeting folks who were on Castro Street!

This doggie was shy, he did not wag his tail. ? He only had a head, and could not wag. But he was sweet & shy & I petted him anyway!

This doggie was the smart one, he had taken the time to go to Twin Peaks for a few drinks. The orange face is the giveaway!

These Doggie Diner Heads were legal, they even had their Green Cards!

I feel like Jimmy Swaggart, I have brought shame upon myself. I do not know who Tom Kennedy was, is, or if he will be on the Tonight Show, or what! Why does he say such terrible things about me?

MOST MEMORABLE LINE FROM ANY FILM ANY ERA=”Flowers are pretty, aren’t they?”

“FLOWERS ARE PRETTY, AREN’T, THEY?”–as spoken by Chesty Morgan playing a secret agent in the Doris Wishman film Double Agent 73.

“Flowers are pretty, aren’t they?” This line does not have to apply to long-dead flowers used in a 1975 Doris Wishman film. Be universal, think big. Flowers are pretty, aren’t they? Say it once more with feeling!

I can just imagine that poor Chesty Morgan had to fend off some thug like this who ended up with his face on a pizza box. This contribution to WordPress is sort of my Tribute to Doris Wishman–focus on details that have nothing whatsoever to do with each other. Celebrate your inner-Total Disconnect & start filming!

Imagine, when he turns out to look like this, waking up to the reality of wishing he had turned into a pizza! Be careful what you wish for! Dedicated to Doris Wishman, Chesty Morgan, and Patrick Stewart.

And when you can no longer deal with reality–long for any fantasy that you choose. It can be World Peace, or closer to home.

The worst films in the world sometimes turn out to take on a life of their very own. James Bond send up, Double Agent 73, starring Chesty Morgan, in this atrocious Doris Wishman disconnect of social dysfunction. Bad wigs, bad acting, bad lighting, bad sets–all of the bad, yours, mine, ours, is lovingly neglected in this ‘trailer’–a teaser, really. To see the real thing, you will need (1) to ask your parents, if they are still alive or (2) to see it wishing they were lurking somewhere upstairs, to pounce on you for not doing your homework. Keep those thoughts going, that will be the energy that gets you though your first viewing. You might want to consider having nice health food things to offset the lack of balance, whilst seeing this. So, disconnect, turn off your mobile devices & enter the realm of the 1970s!

The Art Of Mental Notes @ the glass door gallery

The exhibit being featured @ the glass door gallery, is a collection featuring the talents & imaginations of multiple artists. Called Mental Notes, it has frequent references to the written word as a unifying, but quite diverse, theme.

The first painting to greet the gallery visitor is by artist Jeffrey Thompson.

When experiencing any art, no matter when, where, or how, much depends upon the viewer. Without the viewer, whether a cave painting, sculpture, monumental, or miniature, the ultimate impact is upon you.

Books have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Here, artist Alexis Arnold has fashioned them into works of art that are taken beyond what mere words can convey. The book, as we commonly know it, has been transformed via a secret recipe, including crystal, add water, and stir: a laboratory formula turning each book into a work of art on its own merit, going beyond the written word it was originally intended to represent.

The plural of book=books. With enough of them, you have a library.

Books seem to be a strong theme throughout this particular exhibit. One book by popular novelist, Stephanie Meyer, was given a special bit of Noir treatment & is now a gun reader! It is not specific to this exhibit, but belongs to the museum & worth a shot or two!

Imagine a library of hand guns. You aim to read these guns, non? Or gunning to read these books?

Another of the book series by artist Alexis Arnold. It is a page turner turned into a work of art going beyond a journey of words, embracing & reinforcing the beauty of books on their own merit, regardless of the written content, sacred or secular.

This is a painting of Andy Warhol @ a cafe entrance on Divisadero Street, San Francisco. I liked the idea of it being more or less street art, not in a museum & not costing several millions of dollars. It’s not signed. Post Mortem would make that a bit of a challenge, even freaky. Calling it a knockoff is a tip of the hat to Jean-Claude Van Damme & to Warhol, since they both did the same thing over & over & over. One was a genre artist, the other is an genre actor. Duplication must be in the wrist & the timing. Makes the term monetize seem rather quaint. Enjoy!

    What happens to plastic pumpkins during an earthquake?

Plastic pumpkins turn out to be sentient beings & they are not vegetarian.  The consequences of such have been well-documented by the brilliant & ahead-of-the-times, George Romero.  I am doomed, and this will probably be my last chance to blog as I will become completely desanguinated before I have time to edit…this…things…are…becoming…f-f-faint….I …my…life….before….
