BACK TO THE PICTURE-Art & Framing-SOMA-83 10th Street

4th of July–& one of my cousins was about to turn 80. I wanted to find something to send, small, nice, something with meaning for her. One of her grandsons is in the United States Air Force. When I saw how beautifully framed & matted the American Flag was in their 4th of July window display, I was almost certain that it would either (1) be much too expensive to consider or (2) be a store fixture, not for sale.

Sometimes it is nice to be wrong, double wrong–and in this case two wrongs made a right!

Matting made for a "Grand Old Flag" & a perfect gift for a beloved cousin. The matting is exquisite, but does not overwhelm the object it enhances. A perfect balance.

There are a lot of choices to make when it comes to picture frames & matting. It’s a process–based on skill, intuition, taste, preferences, and cost.

The frame display is engaging on it's own merits. With the choices offered, your picture will be well matched.

The frame display is almost a work of art on its own. With the choices offered, your picture will be well matched.

And if your needs are more “off the rack” this, too, can be accommodated for standard sized items you wish to display.

Certificates, diplomas, standard sized photographs can be beautifully appointed with the right frame.

The comfort of the store, not too big, not too small, combined with a very convenient location & the importance of good customer service are all part of the picture.

  1. I love this article! Check out my blog? I just started and it would mean so much if you could look at my latest article http://lovethegirlinthelittleblackdress.wordpress.com
    Followed btw ❤

    • Thank you–it it a place to love & rediscover art. It’s not just for the rich only. You just have to plan how to afford it, not always easy, but being open to it helps make it possible. Derek Hargrove is very good with customer service & the variety is nice. Going there is not an intimidating experience, the way it is with other galleries.

  2. Thank you for all the “Like this.” Plan to do some more of this business, with more focus on the art they sell.
